Common questions
How do you work out the estimate?
We multiply your head count by the prices you enter, then subtract costs entered in Advanced settings. This provides an indicative net comparison only, not a binding quote.
How are default fees set?
Defaults are benchmarks reviewed on 29 March 2026 using public levy and fee references plus producer margin guides: DAFF levy rates (opens in a new tab), public saleyard fees (opens in a new tab) , and producer gross margin guide (opens in a new tab) . They are a starting point only and can vary materially by district, season, and transport distance.
Why is freight per head but NLIS/admin a total?
Freight is modelled as dollars per head so it scales with mob size. NLIS/admin remains a per-mob total by default because it is commonly recorded as a mob-level charge. You can edit both fields to match your own invoices.
Is this page a firm offer or quote?
No. It is an indicative comparison tool only. A firm price is confirmed separately after reviewing your mob details, timing, location, and market conditions.
What most affects final pricing?
Live weight, quality, delivery window, freight conditions, processor demand, and route availability are the main drivers of final outcome.
How is my enquiry data used?
We use submitted details only to respond to your enquiry and prepare pricing and pickup discussions. The browser submits to Ferguson Hyams first; our server validates the request before securely forwarding the approved fields to HubSpot as our form processor under the consent checkbox.
